Frequency adverbs tell how often something happens. Common N5 words are いつも (always), よく (often), ときどき (sometimes), and あまり〜ない (not often). They are placed before the verb. Key points: • いつも = always • よく = often • ときどき = sometimes • あまり〜ない = not often (used with negative) • Put them before the verb in a sentence Example: “私はいつもコーヒーを飲みます” means “I always drink coffee.” “ときどき映画を見ます” means “I sometimes watch movies.” For あまり, you must use a negative verb: “あまりテレビを見ません” (I don’t watch TV very often). These words are simple but very useful for daily conversation. They help you describe routines, habits, and schedules without adding extra grammar. Practice by talking about your day: いつも朝ご飯を食べます, ときどき図書館へ行きます, あまりお酒を飲みません.
