The negative form of な-adjectives is made with ではありません (or じゃありません in casual speech). It means “is not.” Key points: • な-adjective negative: adjective + ではありません • Polite and common for negative statements • Use じゃありません in casual speech • Same pattern as nouns + ではありません For example, “静か” becomes “静かではありません” (is not quiet). “便利” becomes “便利ではありません” (is not convenient). You can say “この部屋はきれいではありません” to mean “This room is not clean/pretty.” Remember: な-adjectives behave like nouns, so the negative is the same as for nouns. Practice with common adjectives: きれいではありません, しずかではありません, べんりではありません.
